My 2 year daughter broke her leg recently and we have a Disney trip booked. She will still be in her cast when we visit Disney and I am nervous about having her wait in long lines since she can’t stand for very long. What do you suggest?

    Hi, Jamie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I’m so sorry to hear your daughter is injured, but I’m glad you’re still going on your Disneyland Resort trip as planned! You’ll be able to make many magical memories in spite of your little one’s leg being in a cast.

I think the best solution is to bring along a stroller or rent one for your daughter to ride in during your visit. My own 2-year-old uses one while we explore the theme parks because we do so much walking, and I imagine that some mobility assistance would be even more necessary with an injury. Children who need to remain in a stroller while in attraction queues because of a disability or injury can get special permission to use the stroller as a wheelchair.  Simply visit City Hall in Disneyland Park or the Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park to obtain the appropriate identifying tag.

Depending on the attraction, you can either wait in the standard queue if possible or receive a return time at the attraction comparable to the current wait time. For some attractions, you may be asked to go directly to an alternate entrance. Cast Members at the beginning of the queues can help you with the proper procedure for each attraction.

I also recommend using Disney FASTPASS to reduce time you spend waiting in line. To get a FASTPASS, visit the distribution area for an attraction offering this service. Insert your admission ticket into the FASTPASS machine to obtain a return time. For attractions, the return time will be a one-hour window, but for shows, you will receive a return time for a specific performance.

I hope this information helps you, Jamie, and that your family has a perfectly pixie-dusted vacation at the Happiest Place on Earth!

    Wishing you magic,
