Hello. If our use year is August, how can I use points for a stay in Nov & Dec? We would love to go either thanksgiving or Christmas. Thank you

    Hi Jamie,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  I really enjoy is the opportunity to vacation at any time of the year when using my Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points.  I love being able to choose different times to visit Walt Disney World each year, so that I can see what is special at different times of year.  Thanksgiving and Christmas are both beautiful times of year to visit Walt Disney World.

When you are booking a vacation using your Vacation Points, the Use Year revolves around the date for which you are booking the vacation, not for the date that it is currently.  For example, let's say that you want to book a vacation for Christmas 2014.  You could do that now using your 2014 Use Year vacation points, and you could also borrow from your 2015 Use Year vacation points if you needed to.  You could do this currently for any Disney Vacation Club resort since we are within the seven month window  Christmas 2014.  If you want to book a vacation for Christmas 2015, you could book your home resort at 11 months prior.  This would start around the end of January 2015.  If you wanted to book at another Disney Vacation Club Resort, you could do so at seven months prior, which would be around the end of May 2015.  In either case, you would be able to use your 2015 Use Year Vacation Points because your December 2015 trip would occur during your December 2015 Use Year.  You could also bank points from your 2014 Use Year for this trip, and even borrow from your 2016 Use Year for this trip!  I know that this can be a bit confusing.  I suggest that you call Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800 to speak with a cast member to clarify questions about your particular situation.

I hope that these thoughts were helpful for you, Jamie.  Have a great time planning your magical vacation!
