    Yall have sold me on a Disney Cruise for our first Disney Vacation and we are so excited! Our girls are too young for the excursions so are we able to just go to beach at Nassua or do our own thing! They are 2 and 4 what do you recommend?

    Hi Erika,

    Welcome to the Moms Panel!  I think you've made a fantastic choice for your first Disney vacation, the cruise is one of my families favorite destinations.

    I will be completely honest when I tell you, that unless you specifically want to see Nassau, I would take advantage of the relatively empty ship on this day.  Mickey's Pool area is often very crowded and can be intimidating for little ones, so the beauty of the Nassau stop is that the majority of guests disembark the ship for excursions.  You could take full advantage of the pool and splash area during this time. There will be plenty of time for fun in the sun and sand during your visit to Castaway Cay.

    Now if you really want to visit a beach while in Nassau, I will warn you that most of the family beach excursions do require you to purchase a ticket for all children, regardless of age.  There are a few public beaches such a Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island or Cable Beach on the main island.  Both are accessible by taxi.
