Ya'll have been so helpful with planning our Magical Vacation. This is my kids first trip to see Mickey. I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row. I was wondering when the best time you think is to line up reservations for Character Breakfast.

You must mean Donald Ducks in a row, right?!

I use two strategies for character breakfast. First, you must not book your breakfast to interfere with morning touring. The first couple of hours within the park are the least crowded. If you go to a park with morning Extra Magic Hours, do not use your EMH morning to eat breakfast. Tour for at least 2 hours before taking a break to dine.

So my two strategies are to dine early or dine late. I only dine early when we can begin and complete our meal prior to park opening.

For example, on our June vacationĀ I booked an 8:05 a.m. Advance Dining Reservation (ADR) for Donald's Safari Breakfast at the Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom. We were done eating a little after 9 a.m. when guests were just streaming into the park. Had the Animal Kingdom opened for EMH at 8 a.m. that day, I would have chosen not to dine until the latest seating possible.

When I do book a late seating, we will grab a quick granola bar in our room which holds our rumbly-tumbly appetites until our "brunch". This is a good way to save money by eating breakfast and lunch in one meal as well. We will spend the early morning touring and then head for our breakfast.

I am so excited to hear about your first trip to visit Mickey's House. It's sure to be a magical adventure!
