Hey Howdy Hey Jennifer and welcome to planDisney!
Your Magical vacation is next month! I bet you all are getting super excited about all the magic that awaits at the Most Magical Place on Earth. You will be visiting during an extra special time of the year between Christmas and New Year's Day. While there will be a lot to do and experience, let's go over the Christmas decor so you can plan accordingly.
While most of the Christmas decorations go up virtually overnight, they do tend to take a bit to come down. Disney will start taking down all of the Holiday decorations around the first week of January. One of the big hallmark days is race weekend in the Walt Disney World Resort for the
Walt Disney World Marathon. It looks like this will be taking place on January 8th, 2025 and Disney will typically have all the Holiday decorations down by that weekend. If you were planning to experience the Holiday in Disney, you are in luck!
The parks get so much attention when it comes to experiencing the Holidays and rightfully so, but don't sleep on the resorts. The Magic Kingdom resorts go all out for their Holiday decorating. Each resort will have its tree decorated with resort-appropriate theming as well as spectacular displays. Over at
Disney's Contemporary Resort, you will find the
Dream Lights Gingerbread Castle which is a true work of art. Over at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, you will find a life-sized gingerbread house that is a working location to purchase all kinds of Holiday treats. Each resort is connected via the
Walt Disney World Monorail and can be a fun experience to tour the resorts and enjoy the Holiday theming.
I hope your vacation is full of Magical memories and please feel free to stop back if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help!
To Infinity and Beyond,
Nick
