Hi ya! Dad will have ECV from scooterbug. I read there’s designated area for loading onto the bus. Do we stay w/him in that area for loading? Or do we load separately? Hoping my Mom can at least stay w/him in case we don’t all make it on at same time. Thx!

    Hello Shannan!

I can tell that you are getting excited about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! I love using the Walt Disney World Transportation System to get around "the World"! I have a ton of experience using the Disney busses, and on one of my Walt Disney World vacations, my Mother needed to use a scooter (ECV).

Yes, there is a special loading area for Guests with ECVs, Scooters, or wheelchairs. This area will be marked out, and everyone in your traveling party should wait in this designated area with your Father. This area will be to the left or right of the Disney bus queue. According to my experience, the loading pattern when the Disney bus arrives at the bus stop is to unload the passengers and then unload the ECVs. Then the ECVs, Scooters, or wheelchairs are loaded onto an empty bus through the rear door (the bus lowers, and a ramp folds out to drive the ECVs onto the bus). Typically each Disney bus can accommodate at least 2 ECVs. Once the ECVs, Scooters, or wheelchairs are loaded, the traveling parties with the Guests on the ECVs, Scooters or wheelchairs are invited on the bus through the rear door. Then the ramp is folded up, the back door is closed, and the Guests in the bus stop queue are invited on the bus through the front door. Once the Disney bus arrives at its destination, all the Guests get off the bus through the front and rear doors, and then the ECVs, Scooters, or wheelchairs are unloaded. You Dad will have to drive his ECV on and off the Disney bus.

I hope that your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation is magical!
