Would my 17x17x9" suitcase qualify as a carryon for a Disney Cruise?

Ahoy, Natalie! If you're thinking about luggage, it must mean your Disney Cruise Line vacation is just around the riverbend! Let's finish that packing list and gooooo!

When you arrive at the port, you will leave your checked bags with the Disney Cruise Line luggage tags with the crew, who will make sure these bags arrive at your stateroom later that day. With your carry-on bags in hand, you check in and go through security, just like at an airport. Since your carry-on bag must fit through the security screener, it should not exceed 22 inches in height, 14 inches in width, and 9 inches in depth.  It sounds like your bag would be too wide to fit. You could use this bag; you would just need to check it.

As you plan your luggage strategy, make sure that you keep your required travel documents, medications and any valuables with you.

Also, if you are planning ahead, it's helpful to know that on the last evening of your cruise, you will leave your checked bags outside your stateroom door and pick them up at the port the next morning. Make sure you have a bag for anything that you'll need for the last night. We always plan outfits to wear the same thing to the last night's dinner and breakfast. It makes it easier as we only need to stuff pajamas, medications and toothbrushes in a bag to walk off the ship.

I hope this helps, Natalie, even if it is not the news you hoped to hear. If you have any other questions, please cruise back by planDisney. We're all aboard to help!
