Hey there, Angela. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Your trip to the most magical place on earth is just a few short months away. I bet you are getting so excited!
At this time, you can't reassign a
MagicBand to another person. So you wouldn't be able to use your daughter-in-law's MagicBands from a previous trip. If you or your daughter have been to Walt Disney World before and used a MagicBand that was originally assigned to you, you are absolutely able to use that one during your vacation. If you'd like to use a MagicBand during your trip, you can purchase them beforehand via your
MyDisneyExperience account. Once you are logged in head to the "My MagicBands and Cards Section". Once on that page you should see the option to pick out and order MagicBands for your upcoming vacation. If you don't want to preorder MagicBands, you can pick them up at just about any souvenir shop at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks or Resort Hotels. There is no pressure to buy a MagicBand, however. You can get a complimentary Key to the World card at your Resort's front desk. This card will unlock your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel's room door and scan you into the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. The cards have recently gotten a new design and are super cute. I actually would like to collect them all.
On top of a MagicBand of a Key to the World card, one tool that you'll need to have is the MyDisneyExperience app downloaded on your smartphone device. This app makes a Walt Disney World vacation a breeze. You'll be able to see wait times for all of the attractions at each park, unlock your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room door and view your photos taken around the parks by PhotoPass photographers. The feature you will probably use the most is
mobile ordering. Most quick-service dining locations throughout Walt Disney World are only accepting mobile ordering at this time. From the app you'll be able to view the menu, customize your order and pay for your food. When your food is ready, you'll receive a notification letting you know which window to pick up your food at. It's a super convenient process and I actually wouldn't mind if this feature stays around once things go back to normal.
I hope you and your daughter have a wonderful time at Walt Disney World, Angela. If you have any more questions before your trip,
I'm here to help.
Have fun!
