I have a wristband in my name but managed by my husbands account. On my next Disney trip my husband is not coming so I want to move the band to my account. How can I do this

    Hi Sylvia,

Welcome to planDisney! I went on my first (and second) spouse-less Walt Disney World Resort vacation this past year and I fully support your desire to experience the magic with a different traveling party. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and his souvenEAR bigger.

You made your words count, Sylvia, and did an excellent job letting me know about your specific situation. It sounds like you have a MagicBand connected to your profile in your husband's My Disney Experience account. MagicBands are my favorite Disney park accessory. I have a collection of two or three active bands; each allows me to tap into convenience at park entrances, Lightning Lane entrances, and with Disney PhotoPass photographers.

MagicBands can only be linked to one individual and are non-transferable. That means that you would not be able to transfer your husband's MagicBand to your name/account. But since you said the MagicBand is in your name and you have a My Disney Experience account, I believe the solution is to link your profile on your husband's My Disney Experience account to your My Disney Experience account. Here are the steps to complete this task online:

    1. Log into your husband's My Disney Experience account.
    2. Scroll down, hover over the "Family and Friends" icon, and click "View List."
    3. Next to your name on your husband's Family and Friends list, click "Update."
    4. On the righthand side of the screen, click "Share Planning with Sylvia."
    5. Enter your email address and click "Continue."
    6. Check your email inbox for an email saying you have a Family and Friends invitation. When you click to accept the invitation, you'll be asked to sign in to your My Disney Experience account. The two profiles will then be automagically merged and you'll have access to your MagicBand along with any other vacation entitlements currently housed on his account. You and your husband will also remain connected as Family and Friends for future trips.

When shopping for the practically perfect souvenEAR for your husband, I'll share that I do some of my best shopping in EPCOT. My husband loves the Hellie Hansen collection found at the Norway pavilion in World Showcase and the bright lighting and open-concept design of the new Creations Shop make it my favorite place to shop for 50th Anniversary merchandise.
