The wrist band for the Oceaneer Club, is this more like a MagicBand that can be taken off or does our son have to wear it the length of the cruise? He has sensory issues and doesn't like to wear wristbands.

    Ahoy Amanda –

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am pleased to help you with your question regarding Magic Bands for the Oceaneer Club. After registration at the cruise terminal or onboard, pirate cubs are issued a Magic Band that is attached to the wrist with a clamp that children will not be able to remove by themselves. (My kids are total “Houdini’s” and love to slip theirs off once they leave, but most cannot remove them on their own).

However, the Youth Counselors onboard are more than happy to snip off the offending lock if your sea pup wants his band off after leaving the Oceaneer Club. Simply bring the band with you to the Club every time you come. If he will not wear the Band on his wrist at all, speak with a Youth Counselor to see if they have suggestions – I have seen some pirate children with them clipped to their belt loops, fanny packs, or ankles. Just know that if the Magic Band is lost, there is a nominal fee to replace it (was $12.95 on my last sailing).

Thanks for coming back to the Panel with your questions, Amanda, we are always happy to help!
