Hi there... Wow this is so overwhelming! But Ina good way I guess. We - family of 4 including mom, dad, boy1 age 9 and boy 2 age 4. Was thinking September but somebody told us lots of rai and heat so now looking at October. Animal kingdom vs. port Orleans?

    Hi Claire!
No need to feel overwhelmed, even in a good way. We are here to help you every step of the way if needed!!
October, in my opinion, can still be just as rainy, hot and humid as September unless you go towards the end of the month. I have been in both early October and September and felt no difference, weatherwise. That said, late October really starts to get nice with warm days and cool nights.
As for your resort choices, I love them both. Animal Kingdom Lodge is a "deluxe" resort and will cost more per night than either Port Orleans resort, which are considered "moderate" resorts. Still, it is hard to resist the incredible theming, restaurants, and ANIMALS at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. If you choose Port Orleans, both have great pool areas for the kids. I would say it comes down to budget. If you are able to splurge, I say go for the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
I hope this helps and whenever you are feeling overwhelmed, just come on back. It is my pleasure to help you!! :)
