I would Like to book a vacation for march 2025 and need 255 point but only have 230 point available from my 2025 use year. Can I borrow from my April 2026 use year?

Welcome Home, Natalie--and welcome to planDisney! Chatting with a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member is always a treat. You've got a friend in me, and I'm happy to help with your question so you can plan your next magical adventure!

Banking and borrowing is serious DVC business! I appreciate that we Members can use our Vacation Points flexibly to suit our vacation needs from year to year. After many years of Membership, I still find myself double- and triple-checking my math to make sure that I'm using my points correctly, so I totally appreciate your question!

Natalie, based on your April Use Year, a March 2025 vacation falls into your 2024 Use Year that goes from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. This means that the points available for you to use for this trip are those from the 2024 Use Year, plus borrowed points from your 2025 Use Year.  You will not be able to access the points from your 2026 Use Year for this stay, unfortunately.

You do have a couple of options in this situation. Members may purchase up to 24 One-Time Use Points each Use Year. These can be used for bookings within the 7-month window. If you know any other DVC Members with some points to spare, you can also transfer points once per Use Year. This requires having both Members call Member Services to complete the transfer.

Speaking of our helpful pals at Member Services, I highly recommend reaching out via phone or chat to talk through your situation. They may be able to suggest alternative accommodations or other strategies to make your dream vacation a reality!

I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Natalie. If I can help with any other questions about all things DVC, please feel free to reach out directly anytime. Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney!
