We woudl like to visit in July for 3 days. We will be staying off site in a hotel. Can you please tell me the best way to plan for passes, food, actitivites, etc?

    Heigh-Ho Anne,

Welcome to planDisney, this is the perfect place to start planning for your Walt Disney World vacation and I am happy to provide some tips that will set you on your way.

Guests, planning on visiting Walt Disney World, should make a My Disney Experience profile and download the app. This is your vacation hub. Here you can purchase, modify and upgrade tickets, reserve and cancel Disney Park Pass reservations, make advanced dining reservations, select mobile food orders, observe current wait times within the parks, stay up to date with your own personalized itinerary and that’s just some of what this handy-dandy pixie-dusted tool will do for you. At this time make your Family & Friend list. Become comfortable navigating both online and mobile app so when you arrive it is but second nature on how to use it.

Guests visiting, a Walt Disney World Theme Park, currently need to make a Disney Park Pass reservation. This allows Walt Disney World to continue to monitor park capacity and maintain a healthy and safe environment for all Guests and Cast Members. Before purchasing your tickets, have a look at the Theme Park Availability calendar. Here you can see specific days you are interested in and see which parks are available for you to reserve. Once you have done this, it is time to purchase your Walt Disney World Tickets.  Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets are customizable (number of days, upgraded Park Hopper option, upgraded Park Hopper Plus option, etc.) take the time to see which ticket works best for you. After you purchase, you will be prompted to link the tickets to specific Guests, from your Family & Friend list, and make your Disney Park Pass reservation.  All of this will show up on your itinerary in your My Disney Experience.

Dining around Walt Disney World is an adventure for the taste buds. Table-Service dining options are restaurants that highly recommend an advanced reservation and can be found all around Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Resorts and Disney Springs. Guests, staying off-property, can make reservations 60-days in advance through their My Disney Experience so be cognizant of when your 60-day marker is. Another option is mobile food ordering and is available for many of the quick-service dining restaurants. This service allows Guests to pre-order and pay for meals conveniently on their My Disney Experience mobile app. Upon arrival, at the quick-service restaurant, a Cast Member will point you in the direction to pick up your food.

As for activities, exploring Disney Springs, sliding down the slippery slopes of Disney’s Blizzard Beach, or taking a putt at Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Golf are some great places to consider. But each Walt Disney World Theme Park has so many fun extras and it’s worth taking the time to discover that besides attractions and shows there is so much more.

I hope this helps with your first big steps towards planning and feel free to ask us any further curiouser and curiouser inquiries you may and will have as you continue to prepare to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth.

    Have a Practically Perfect Day,

    Amy M.
