Is it worthwhile to purchase tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in early December if we need to get our toddler to bed by 8:30pm? I really wanted to see the fireworks, but during our stay there's only Holiday Wishes fireworks at 10pm. Thanks!

    Shani:

If you cannot stay for the parade and fireworks at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, let me save you some money, and recommend that you skip it this trip. Although I have not had any trouble getting into the party before its stated opening time of 7 p.m., leaving the Magic Kingdom to make an early bedtime will not allow you to see two of its biggest draws, and I can promise you that for the money you save, you can buy all the cookies and hot chocolate that's available at the party later at the Main Street Bakery.

If seeing the fireworks is a must, consider a few alternatives:

    • Depending on how many are in your party, look at spending the money you would have on your tickets to help you splurge on a Magic Kingdom view room at The Contemporary, Grand Floridian, or Polynesian. That way, you can enjoy the fireworks from the comfort of your room as your little one sleeps.
    • Tuck your toddler into a stroller and watch the fireworks from the exit ramp of the Ticket & Transportation Center's ferry. There will be lots of empty parking spaces in the MK parking lot toward the front for a 9:30 p.m. arrival, and you'll be on your way quickly to your hotel room when they are over. Yes, you'll be fudging bedtime a little but this plan allows you to miss the noise of the crowds along with the time it takes to leave the parks.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!
