Hi Jennifer!
Choosing your resort for your Walt Disney World vacation is an important part of the planning. There are several things to consider when deciding which great resort to call home for your stay.
As you mentioned size of rooms is important especially for the larger families. The rooms at the
Beach Club Resort will be some of the largest rooms on property. Before choosing to spend more money for a deluxe resort consider how much time you will actually be spending in your room. If you have older children you might prefer the larger rooms where if you have younger children it might not really matter.
Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite moderate resort for many reasons. Rooms are comfortable and adequate and the amenities are good. But the Beach Club will win on location as it is within walking distance of two parks, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. If your budget can allow the difference between a moderate and a deluxe it is a great time to experience it when needing a room for five.
Don't forget there are other options as well for larger families. Consider a cabin at the
Fort Wilderness Resort. You will have a bedroom with a queen bed and bunk beds and then another queen sofa bed in the living area. You have a fully equipped kitchen as well as a deck and outdoor grill. It is a different but wonderful new way to experience Disney. There are also family suites at the
Art of Animation Resort. The added benefit for these rooms is that you will have two full bathrooms for the family to use. Hard decisions when deciding!
