Hello, is it worth spending the extra money for the Christmas parade/show at the Magic Kingdom in the evening? Thank you.

Hi Marci! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

In my opinion, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is worth it. To me this party is such a wonderful event. It snows on Main Street, U.S.A., you can snack on hot chocolate, cookies, and other snacks throughout the park with the price of admission; and there are typically less people in the parks than on a normal day. To me there is something so magical about all of the decorations and extra Holiday events that happen during the party. It really gets you in the holiday spirit.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is so much fun. The music, characters dressed in their holiday best, and the Toy Soldiers marching are my favorite parts of this parade. The Castle Dream Lights are beautiful and Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season always leaves me a bit teary eyed.

One of the great things about this extra ticket event is that even though the party technically starts at 7:00 PM, typically you can enter Magic Kingdom Park at 4:00 PM for this event! That’s an extra three hours of play time!

If you can budget for this event I would say go for it! It really is one of my favorite experiences. I hope that you have a magical time! Please come back and visit us with any additional planning needs!
