Is it worth getting premier access for the rides we already have the same at Disneyland/WDW? What are the differences if any?

Hi there Deena, it's wonderful to welcome you to planDisney as you prepare for your trip to Paris!

It sounds like you're thinking about purchasing Disney Premier Access to speed through attraction queues quicker! I can definitely understand where you'd want to weigh whether it's worth getting the Disney Premier Access Ultimate for all of the eligible attractions or Disney Premier Access One on the day of your visit using the Disneyland Paris app for  just the specific rides you really want to experience. With this decision in mind, here's a handy list of the rides and attractions with American counterparts and how they're different to help you decide what'll be worth the most to you:

    • Big Thunder Mountain is unique in that it's mostly on an island in the middle of Thunder Mesa, meaning you actually pass under the Rivers of the Far West; it's personally my favorite version of the ride being the longest and largest of the bunch!
    • Phantom Manor is really one of a kind, and though you'll see some familiar scenes in the first half of the attraction, the second half is where it really shows how distinctive its storyline is and how much it blends in with its setting in Frontierland.
    • Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain is very different compared to the Space Mountains here in the States, from its soundtrack to the launch and the three inversions you experience during the ride.
    • Avengers Assemble: Flight Force is essentially the same layout as the previously existing Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, but you'll find it integrated into Marvel Avengers Campus with a brand-new story and the chance to spot Iron Man in the queue!
    • Pirates of the Caribbean is definitely the most unique version out of the bunch and definitely my favorite - not counting the Battle for the Sunken Treasure version in Shanghai Disneyland. If you're used to the versions we have over here, it might seem like you're experiencing the ride "backwards" but it has its own distinct moments like a pirate swinging from a rope over your boat and two drops that feel more thrilling!
    • "it's a small world" is one of those attractions that will feel the same, but the version at Disneyland Paris has a much more expanded European section at the beginning and an entire part dedicated to the United States and Canada that is unique to this version (and shouldn't be missed)!
    • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is closest to the version that existed before Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! existed in California, but with different storylines that feature that very creepy little girl from the pre-show.
    • Ratatouille: The Adventure is mostly the same, with the big difference being that it ends at a restaurant with views of Bistrot Chez Rémy!
As for the rest, Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, Peter Pan's Flight, Autopia, Orbiton and Star Tours: The Adventures Continue aren't that different and personally wouldn't be as high on my must-do list if you're aiming at new experiences.

I hope this helps you decide on which ones you'll want to skip or ride on sooner!
