Is it worth the difference in price to stay at a moderate resort instead of a value resort?

Hi Tara, let me break down some of the major differences between Value and Moderate resorts for you:
Rooms - you will have slightly more room in a Moderate. Small fridges are included in your room as are coffee makers. While the beds are the same size, in my opinion the mattress quality is much better in a Moderate.
    Pools
    - Moderate resorts have a water slide, hot tub, and towels provided at the main pool, where the Value resorts do not. Both Moderate and Value have additional quiet pools located in other areas.
Dining - Value resorts offer a food court (which can be quite chaotic during peak times) where the Moderates offer table service in addition to a food court. Limited room service is available in Moderates but is not in Values, aside from pizza delivery.
Bus Stops - if you are using Disney transportation, Moderate resorts offer covered bus stops.
Overall Crowds - because the Value resorts offer more floors of rooms and only a food court for all, it tends to feel much more crowded during peak times. Moderate resorts seem to have a much more laid back, relaxing feel to them because they are all spread out over more area.
Activitites - most Moderate resorts offer activities such as water sports and other recreation. In the case of Port Orleans; a boat which takes you to Downtown Disney.
I think those little things make a big difference if you are looking for more relaxation and comfort on your vacation. As far as recommendations, my personal favorite among Moderates is Port Orleans French Quarter. I just love the theme & pool area, it's all wonderful. Port Orleans Riverside comes in a close second with its similar feel.
I hope this helps, if you have any questions about specific resorts, come back and we'll be happy to answer! ~Suzannah
