Is it worth checking in online or is it better to wait until you arrive at the hotel in the hope of getting an upgrade? My family and some friends, 9 in total, will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House, in a 2-bedroom villa.

    Jambo, Eli!

Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney!  How exciting that you will be enjoying a large gathering of family and friends at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House. This is one of my favorite Resorts, and I'm sure you just can't wait to be king of the savannah as you watch the animals grazing and free to roam around all day.

Eli, I am a huge fan of the touchless check-in through your Disney Vacation Club account or your My Disney Experience account.  It makes your arrival so easy, as you get a notice when your room is ready and you can go straight to it, use the app to open the door, and get settled in without stopping by the Front Desk.

Now, typically, if you have booked a two-bedroom Villa, this is the room you will get and these aren't usually upgraded at check-in.  If you have a specific request, like you want to be on a specific floor or near the elevator, you can call Disney Vacation Club Member Services if you are a DVC Member or Guest Services if you booked as a cash-paying Guest and put these requests on your reservation.  They are not guaranteed but the helpful Cast Members will do their best to accommodate.   Usually, however, the type of Villa and view you booked when making your reservation is what room you will be given.

Now, if you check in online and then arrive at your room and find it unsatisfactory for any reason, you can speak with the Front Desk.  They will see if an alternative room of the same size and view is available or work with you to come up with a solution. But this is entirely dependent on availability.

I hope this helps you, Eli. If you have any further questions, stop back and see me and I'll be glad to help you.  Enjoy making magical memories!

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
