Is it worth while to do a character breakfast before a park opens if it is also EMH that day? Also, how long should we plan for the breakfast? Will an 8:05 breakfast get us out in time to be "first" on the rides?

    Hi Heather,

One of our favorite traditions is eating breakfast at the Magic Kingdom before the park opens, so we do make our reservations on days when there is NOT morning Extra Magic Hours.  It is such a magical experience being nearly the only ones on Main Street; we have fabulous pictures of us alone with the castle in the background. When we do make the reservations, we opt for the earliest seating, which is often 8:05 am, and we arrive before our reservation time since there is often a line of guests waiting to check in.  We typically are finishing up as the park opens and can walk out of the restaurant as guests are arriving.

However, if that is the only day you could make the reservation, I think you'll still have an enjoyable time dining on a yummy breakfast and most likely spending time with characters, so you won't need to wait in lines later in the day to meet them. And someone in your party could certainly go and get a set of fast passes to use later in the morning!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel; please let us know if we can help again!
