Is it worth it to get a cabana at the water parks?

    Hiya, Carrie! Welcome to planDisney!

It looks like your Walt Disney World adventure is just a couple of months away. How exciting! You’ll be strolling down Main Street U.S.A., exploring faraway galaxies, enjoying Mickey-shaped snacks, and having an aquatic adventure before you know it!

The private water park cabanas, called Polar Patios at Blizzard Beach and Beachcomber Shacks at Typhoon Lagoon, are a great way to relax and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the parks. Each standard private deck can accommodate up to 6 guests and includes towels, cushioned seating, a locker, refillable drink mugs, and bottled water, while the Premium Plus options include even more amenities. Advanced recommendations are recommended, but you can inquire about same-day availability at Beach Haus at Blizzard Beach or Singapore Sal’s at Typhoon Lagoon.

The number one thing I’d ask myself if I was on the fence about renting a cabana is, “How much time will I be spending at the water park?” If I were going to have a whole day of splish splash spectacular fun at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, then having a dedicated oasis and family check-in spot would be a great add-on to our visit. Also, if I were visiting with young kiddos then it would be nice to have a quieter space for breaks (let’s be honest, the odds of a nap are slim…). A cabana might not be worth the added expense if my vacation itinerary only allowed for a quick dip at the water parks, but travel schedules and needs differ from group to group. What might not be “worth it” for one family might be a vacation necessity for another!

Carrie, I hope this info helps with your vacation planning. Remember, Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests can enjoy free water park admission on their check-in day in 2025. It’s such a great way to kick off your stay at the Vacation Kingdom.
