Hi, Amy! You are going to have the time of your life aboard Disney's
Dream! Yet, I understand your concern about motion sickness. Some people are more susceptible than others, and there are a few hints and tricks that may help your husband deal with the effects.
Since I practically grew up on a boat, I thankfully have never experienced sea sickness, but my predecessor, Disney Cruise Line Mom Karen, has. She has found the mid-ship cabins, on decks 5-6 have been most favorable for her and discovered that the higher the deck and more forward the cabin, the
more the motion is felt. You can make note of your concerns and expectations under
Special Requests when you make your reservations.
There are several things that you can do to try to alleviate the
sickness once onboard. First of all, try seeking fresh air, and staring at the distant horizon can decrease ill
feelings. There are several over-the-counter remedies such as patches,
pills and wrist bands, and I suggest you talk with your doctor to see
what might work best for your husband and the members of your family. In the event of rough seas, motion sickness tablets will be made
available to guests. Simply visit guest services or the medical
facility for more information.
Here's hoping for smooth sailing on a
Dream! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
