Hello, Lindsay! Welcome to planDisney.
A Disney Cruise is the ultimate family vacation because your entire crew can enjoy many activities together. But where Disney shines is in their imaginative youth spaces! I have been in your potty-training shoes before. My son was three on his first Disney Cruise and reluctant to potty train. From one mom to another, I’m happy to share what worked for us.
Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are two connected spaces aboard the Disney Dream for sailors 3 to 12 years of age. My son loved the club side. There’s a magic floor, Andy’s room, and Pixie Hollow to explore. When exploring the ship on the first day, stop by the youth clubs during Open House hours to meet the counselors, investigate these interactive spaces together, and hunt down the bathrooms.
Children can choose free play or participate in a scheduled activity. You’ll find a list of activities on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Before taking my son to the club, we would have him use the bathroom, and then I’d check on him every hour. Sometimes, I would walk by and see him playing, and he’d give me a thumbs up. Other times, he was ready to leave, and we were off on a family adventure.
One activity we enjoy doing together is helping Mickey and his friends solve a mystery for the
Midship Detective Agency. This self-guided game is a great way to work together as a family to solve a crime. Your mission will take you all over the ship, exploring different interactive artwork with a special badge. It’s self-paced, so you don’t have to solve the mystery all at once. You can play the game little by little throughout your voyage. My husband always picks artwork near the self-serve ice cream station. I wonder why?
I hope you have a magical time with Captains Mickey and Minnie, Lindsay. Please stop by and see us again!
SEAS the adventure!
