Worried about buying Special Event Tickets ahead of time. Does Disney refund special event tickets (like MVMCP) if the weather is bad on a particular night you've chosen? or do they offer alternative night to come back on? Please advise?

    Hi Shawn,

Just like the parks stay open during rain, cold, and heat, special events such as parties typically take place even in not so great weather. Tickets to events such as Night of Joy, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are nonrefundable.

Remember, Florida rainstorms are usually short lived and tend to only slow down the fun rather than halt your good time. Once my family attended a party during a fierce rainstorm. After a hour or two of negotiating the Magic Kingdom in ponchos, we hopped on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. When we exited the ride, the rain had cleared along with the crowds. The park was so empty Cast Members let us ride The Magic Carpets of Aladdin repeatedly without getting off during the fireworks. What an amazing view! Then we rode Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin with no wait so many times my kids are still experts at defeating Zorg.

Please contact me if you have additional questions about MVMCP or any other aspect of Walt Disney World.
