I’ve worn a wetsuit on all the slides at Blizzard Beach, including Slush Gusher and Summit Plummet with no issues, despite several references on this site and others saying it’s not allowed. Has the official policy at the parks changed?

    Hey there, Mark!

Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you're gearing up for a good time at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. With its thrilling water slides, wave pool, and delicious dining options, there's no shortage of fun. I actually just visited Blizzard Beach for the first time in years—our family usually vacations during the winter months when it's a bit too chilly—and let me tell you, we had an absolute blast! Summit Plummet definitely hits differently as an adult compared to my fearless teenage years, but the adrenaline rush was just as exhilarating!

When it comes to attire at Blizzard Beach and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, the guidelines in the "Know Before You Go" section recommend that swimsuits be free of buckles, rivets, zippers, or exposed metal. Based on these guidelines, wetsuits are generally good to go, as long as they don't have any of those restricted elements. In my opinion—and the opinion of my fellow planDisney panelists—the only wetsuits that might pose an issue are those with zippers where the pull tab can't be tucked away or where the zipper teeth are too large. This rule is in place to ensure the safety of all Guests, maintain the integrity of the attractions, and prevent potential punctures to rafts and tubes used on certain slides. If there's any concern, a friendly Cast Member may provide guidance, always with Guest safety as the top priority.

While you're enjoying your day at Blizzard Beach, I highly recommend checking out the Polar Patios and Lodge Umbrellas from the Enchanted Extras Collection. The Polar Patios offer a private shaded area with comfortable seating, a locker for your belongings, refillable drink mugs, and a cooler stocked with ice and bottled water—perfect for relaxing between adventures. If you're looking for something more budget-friendly, the Lodge Umbrella provides shade, seating, and a great home base for the day. And don't forget to stop by Polar Pub for a refreshing cocktail or Avalunch for a quick and tasty bite (the Sand Pail Sundae is always a crowd-pleaser)!

Thanks again for swinging by planDisney, Mark! If you have any other questions, feel free to dive back in

    See you real soon!
