Hi we are going to the Worlds Cheerleading championships in April. As we are DVC members we have organised already our accommodation. Now we need to buy park and event tickets. What kind of ticket do we need to get for the event? are they separate tickets?

    Hi Angela,

    Welcome to planDisney!

If I am correct, you are headed to the 2024 ICU Junior World & World Cheerleading Championships. Although my high school cheer coaching days are long behind me, I can still feel the excitement of competitions! As you indicate, these competitions have specific ticketing and hotel information.

I have to direct you to the competition site. If you go to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex website, click on Learn More, then click on Cheer and Dance (or Events & More), find the link for the 2024 ICU Junior World & World Cheerleading Championships. From that link, click on the "i" for Event Information and you should see the link for Hotel & Commuter Package Pricing. You should be able to see pricing. Then, you can click on the ticket link to get to the ticket order form. If those instructions do not get you the information you need and/or you have additional questions, there is also a link for questions (noted with a question mark) that includes email addresses.

Kudos to you for booking your Disney Vacation Club (DVC) accommodations! I will also add a gentle reminder that you will need to arrange transportation from the airport. We typically book MEARS but there are other options available. As you continue to plan, remember to check the transportation options while you are at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Occasionally, when trying to get to an early morning dining reservation, my family will use Disney Minnie Van™ Service Connected by Lyft. The drivers are fantastic and have always added a little extra Disney knowledge to our rides.

Angela, I know cheer competitions are BUSY, but I do hope you find some quality time to enjoy the parks. I am always amazed at the athletes who cheer. It truly is a special sport. Sending a little extra pixie dust hoping your team performs well and has some fun! Remember to get a few photos with characters. My family adores breakfast at Chef Mickey's!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
