Hi Catherine!
Congrats on your plans to visit Walt Disney World in September!
Mid-September is typically a low crowd time of year which is most enjoyable! I've visited before in September and in fact will be there at that very same time again this year! We really enjoy the short queues for attractions and generally low volumes of crowds all around. It's worked very well for us in the past.
It can be a bit rainy time at that time of year, but
isn't the rainiest season. June, July and August are typically rainier than September. Even if rain does move in one day, there's still plenty of fun to be had! Grab yourselves a Mickey poncho, splash in a puddle and go find more fun! Temperatures in September are nice and warm which equates to plenty of resort pool or Disney Water Park time for my family! You can expect average daily highs in the 80s which is just perfect to do the
huge variety of things possible at Walt Disney World! In the evening, you'll find it may cool down but only to the low 70s so you'll not likely need to pack extra layers to tote for the day.
Although hurricanes are fairly unlikely to affect you in the very center of Florida, Disney does have a
Hurricane Policy in place for your protection and safely that you may want to review since you mention concern about it. I'm glad to hear that nothing is stopping you and that you just want to be prepared! That's the perfect, Magical attitude to begin your vacation with and it's the same way I feel!
Perhaps our paths will cross in September at Walt Disney World Catherine! If you spot me around in my pink Moms Panel hat, be sure to say
Hello!
Wishing you a simply Magical time on your September vacation!
