You are asking about some of my favorite things at the Disneyland Resort:
shopping,
World of Disney, and gift cards.
If you are referring to the standard
Disney Gift Cards currently available for purchase from the
shopDisney online store, then yes, those
Disney Gift Cards are valid for purchases at the World of Disney store in the
Downtown Disney District. In fact, the Disney Gift Card can be used at just about any
Disney-owned and operated location nationwide. Disney Gift Cards are a major part of our
budgeting strategy for our visits to the Disneyland Resort.
If you are referring to
shopDisney Gift Cards, such as may be granted in the form of a merchandise credit for
returns and exchanges at the shopDisney website, note that those merchandise credits may only be used on the shopDisney site. You will not be able to use that type of gift card at the World of Disney store.
If you happen to have some shopDisney merchandise credit and still really want to use it for a piece of Disneyland Resort magic, you may be interested in the
Disneyland section of the shopDisney website. Perhaps you will want to get some
Disneyland Custom Gear to take with you on your vacation. Full disclosure: shopDisney sent my family some Disneyland Resort shirts customized with our name that we can use on our vacations. We love them. In fact, our youngest daughter loves to wear hers at home almost every day!
