Is the World of Color dessert party open on January 1st? It will not let me make reservations for that day. Thank you!

    Hi there, Chanel!

Thanks so much for your question! You have discovered my favorite enchanting special event at the Disneyland Resort and I would love to help you make reservations.

The World of Color Dessert Party is the absolute best way to enjoy this colorful nighttime spectacular! It sounds like maybe you were experiencing a bit of a technical issue. I just checked the World of Color Dessert Party availability page and I can see that a party of 4 guests can make reservations for a couple of times on January 1, 2024. Sometimes reservations aren't released at exactly 60 days in advance, so it's a good idea to keep checking back if you don't see one that works for you. In this case, I'd go book your reservations right away!

On the day of your party reservation, you'll follow the instructions on your reservation to check in for the party near the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. You'll probably have the chance to choose between a low table and a high table (I always like the high ones best) and the Cast Member will ask if there are any allergies they should be aware of. Given the time of year, I recommend bringing a warm layer with you just in case it's chilly!

Since you'll be visiting during the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort you will have the chance to watch the special holiday version of the show: World of Color - Season of Light. I saw this version of the show last year, and I love it! It's a great mix of timeless holiday music and our favorite stories. My kids were especially excited about Goofy trying to manage his Christmas lights, which of course included lots of his usual hijinks. We especially enjoyed seeing how MagicBand+ interacted with the show!

I hope you're able to get your reservations made, Chanel! Safe travels to you, and let us know if you have more questions!

    Keep moving forward!
