When do world of color desert party reservations nope up? Hoping to catch a reservation for October 20th but they aren’t open yet.

Hello, Frances, and welcome to planDisney! The World of Color Dessert Party is the perfect way to end a day in California Adventure. Imagine relaxing at a table, enjoying sweet treats, and watching the show from a great vantage point. Let’s talk about reservations for this fun experience!

Typically, dining reservations become available as far as 60 days out. You may notice some nights are unavailable for the dessert party in September and October, as indicated with a slash on the dining event reservation calendar. That's because California Adventure will close early on those evenings for the Oogie Boogie Bash. A circle and slash on a date indicates that there are no reservations available, which is what I believe you saw when you checked previously. There are fewer dessert parties this time of year, which means more Guests may be trying to get the available reservations. However, reservations can be released up to one day before, so keep checking, and you might be able to get one for your preferred date.

Frances, here are some other ideas for you to consider, in case you have trouble getting a reservation (or if you want to add even more fun to your trip):

    • Virtual Queue: On days when a World of Color performance is scheduled, you can join the virtual queue for World of Color from the Disneyland mobile app at noon (as long as you've entered the park by then). It's an easy way to secure a great viewing spot for the show.
    • Character Dining: How does enjoying a delicious meal while Disney Characters visit your table sound? My family loves Character Dining, and there are some fun themed options during the Halloween season.
    • Dessert Adventure: Explore festive snacks and sweets all around the Resort. Check out the Halloween Foodie Guide on the Disney Parks Blog to map out your must-try treats!
    • Disney’s Happiest Haunts – The Villains’ Trail Guided Tour: For something extra special, consider this seasonal experience, which features spooky storytelling, fun trivia, and reserved viewing for the Halloween Screams nighttime spectacular.

Frances, I hope your visit is filled with magical moments, delicious treats, and just the right amount of spooky fun. If you think of more questions while planning, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney.
