Working on the WDW plans and DH has mentioned that he'd like to camp there as we'll have a trailer to use. Any of the moms or dad camp there before? Did you enjoy it? Would you do it again? Looking for more info. TX!”
Hi Kimberly,
You are reminding me of my wonderful childhood vacations at Fort Wilderness Campground with our RV (I have probably camped there at least 20 times over the years and many times for a month at a time, during Easter mostly). Sitting outside our RV, coloring easter eggs and feeding our resident ducks is a memory I will never forget. Did I like the experience? YES! absolutely. Would I do it again? I definitely would!. These were some of my best and fondest memories at Walt Disney World and I think you get to experience a whole different side to WDW when you camp there no matter what your age. You do still experience that Disney "Magic" and if you are any type of an "outdoorsey" person, then you will love this campground. There are pools, nightly entertainment (i.e. campfire with Chip and Dale...roasting marshmallows, hot dogs, etc... and finished off with a Disney classic...what could be better than that?). You get the benefit of a Water Launch Service here, as well as the complimentary Disney Bus Transportation System, the only difference is that you are camping at a very large, disney themed, magical campground that offers so many different experiences, you would not otherwise experience at any other campground that I know of. A petting farm, access to the barn to view the beautiful horses that are so unique to Disney, rental of canoes, speed boats, fishing excursions, bicycles, golf carts (my favorite), sandy beach with hammocks, campfires, singalongs, movies, horse back riding, home to the famous Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, restaurants, trading posts, etc, etc...the list goes on and on and in my opinion is a "must do" at least once if you like to camp! I am sorry if I am rambling on but this place is dear to my heart and I wish everyone could experience the fun, camping side to WDW....definitely a "one of a kind" experience in my opinion!
Have a magical day!
