Hello! I am working to plan a Disney vacation for a family of 15 (3 of which are children). 6 senior citizens are included in this number. We would prefer to stay on the property. Can anyone assist with finding the best accommodations for us?

    Hi Hillary,

Welcome to planDisney! Let me first send you some pixie dusted patience! Planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort for a larger group can be as exhausting as it is incredible.

I can give you some suggestions. When you are ready to book, you can make reservations online or contact a Cast Member by phone. First, I urge you to familiarize yourself with the types of resorts. Take a look at the Disney Resorts Collection paying particular attention to the amenities of each resort. My family always pays attention to the transportation and dining options at each resort. We avoid resort hotels that only have access to Walt Disney World® Bus Service. We prefer resorts like Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Contemporary Resort that are within walking distance to a theme park and with access to the Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation or Disney Skyliner.

Once you have a few resort hotels that look as if they would meet the needs of your group, do some comparison pricing for vacation packages. Just click on the vacation package link and then click on Book your Walt Disney World Vacation today! Given the dates of your visit, I suggest that you make those reservations as soon as possible. Once you have booked your vacation packages, make sure to create a My Disney Experience account if you do not already have one. When you get your confirmation number for your vacation package, you need to link that confirmation number in My Disney Experience.

Once your vacation package is linked, make Disney Park Pass system reservations. Each Guest will need a park pass reservation to enter a theme park. Keep your eye on the theme park reservation availability calendar as you get those vacation packages booked. Take a look at the Enchanting Extras Collection to see if there is an activity that you all want to do together as a family (yes, mandatory fun!). And always check the operational updates since policies and procedures could change!

Hillary, stay focused and take heart! You are going to be the magic maker for your family!

    Magic and memories,
