Hi there Nicky, and a very warm planDisney welcome to a fellow Canadian!
There really is nothing like heading down for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation while the weather just begins to get colder in Ontario as your family escapes the chills in sunny Orlando. For many of us Canadians, being able to estimate a budget for your stay is super important - especially when keeping the exchange rate in mind!
I wish I knew more about how long you'll be staying for, the age ranges for your group and your family's dining habits to be able to give you an accurate budget! However, we recently had a number of our family members travel down this past week and they estimated that they would each spend around a hundred dollars each day if they only ate at
dining locations within the parks. While the end result showed some spending slightly less and others slightly more, this seemed to be the average expenditure. Unfortunately the
Disney Dining Plans are currently not available as I write this; we're keeping our fingers crossed and would love it if they returned one day! We've noticed that the Disney Dining Plan symbol is still present on menus for new restaurants and there was a
Disney Dining Promo Card that debuted recently; though it is a limited-time offer that may not be valid by your upcoming trip, it may be a good idea to keep an eye on it for updates or additional dates!
There are also two more great ways to estimate your food budget before your trip, which could also be a fun way for your family to start discussing and dreaming about the deliciousness in store:
You may be delighted to discover whether your trip falls on one of the upcoming dates for the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival when dates are officially released - however I will say that I have definitely gone over my budget at times wanting to sample all of the dangerously delicious food around the world at this event!
Hopefully this is helpful for both you and your family to get an idea of how much you can expect to spend on food during your upcoming trip. Please feel free to
come back to planDisney any time to ask me for tips or information that I can research for you - especially when it comes to food!
Bon Appétit on your upcoming Food Adventure,
Prince
