How does it work at sit down meals with my two year old? Do I have to share my plate or I can pay extra for her food?

    Hello Sabrina,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Bringing a little one to Walt Disney World is so much fun! Of course, they probably won't remember the trip when they get older, but you will remember every magical moment. The fact that children under 3 get to play and dine for free is an added bonus!

Children under 3 do not need a ticket for entry to the parks, and you do not have to purchase a meal for them. They can share your meal with you, in which case you can request a separate plate. I recommend making reservations for meals that are served buffet or family style. This is a great time to make some character dining reservations. Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Tusker House Restaurant in Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT are a few of our favorites.

Of course, if you are at a restaurant where everyone orders an individual entree and you think that your child won't want to share your meal with you, you can always pay to order a meal from the child's menu.

During your visit, be sure to locate the Baby Care Centers in each of the 4 theme parks. These fully staffed areas are a perfect spot to take a quiet, short break from the parks or change a diaper or an outfit if needed.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
