Hi Vicki,
Welcome to planDisney!
The first step is creating a My Disney Experience account via the Walt Disney World website and signing into the
My Disney Experience mobile app. These are the resources you will be using for your
Park Hopper Theme Park tickets and
Disney Genie+ Service.
The Park Hopper ticket option allows you “hop” over to another Theme Park after you’ve been in your reserved Theme Park for a period of time. For example, if you create a Disney Park Pass for
Magic Kingdom Park and decide you’d like to go to
EPCOT, you can! Park Hopping begins at 2:00 p.m. daily and is subject to availability. When you purchase your tickets online, you can add the Park Hopper and Genie+ options for the duration of your vacation. After you purchase your tickets, make sure to reserve your
Disney Park Passes as well. At this time both Theme Park tickets and Disney Park Pass reservations are needed for admission into a Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park.
Now that you have your tickets and Disney Park Passes, let's register for
Genie+ which is the way you “reserve” your ride times. With your tickets linked in the My Disney Experience mobile app, you will be able to make your Genie+ reservations. If you don’t purchase Genie+ for every day, you can purchase it separately for a specific day during your vacation.
When signed into the My Disney Experience mobile app, from the home screen, select the three lines in the lower right-hand corner, then select “My Genie Day”. Next, in the top right corner you’ll want to select “Change Day” and select the day that you want to have Disney Genie+. Once the correct day is selected, you should see the date appear in the upper left-hand corner. Now select “Get Disney Genie+ for Today” in the purple bar in the middle of the screen. Then tap “Get Disney Genie+ Service” and all of your party with Theme Park tickets should be eligible for the Genie+ service. Continue through the payment process and you should be all set!
When it comes to “reserving” ride times, you’ll want to come back at 7:00 a.m. on the day(s) you have the service so you can select your party’s first
Lightning Lane attraction. After this one is used, you can select another Lightning Lane and continue the cycle throughout the day. Please remember that some attractions have
individual Lightning Lanes, which are a separate purchase from your Genie+ reservations.
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is useful as you prepare for your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort.
If you have any other planning or vacation questions, please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
