Hi Kathleen,
Welcome to planDisney! I am happy to see you dropping by with another great question.
Thanksgiving is a lovely time of year, especially since the parks and resorts are decorated for the
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort season. I trust you have seen that
Walt Disney World Resort Holidays Start Nov. 6. Be sure to catch the special projections that will light up Cinderella Castle this year and, starting on November 27, you can experience the
EPCOT® International Festival of the Holidays.
First and foremost, we always select where we want to dine for any special occasion. For Thanksgiving, my favorite restaurant is
Liberty Tree Tavern. The colonial décor tugs at my history teacher heart. If you do not yet have
advanced dining reservations, hurry. They do go quickly for Thanksgiving Day! Of course, if you would prefer a more lighthearted dining experience, try
Minnie's Holiday Dine at Hollywood & Vine.
If you are considering a signature dining experience, try
Tiffins,
California Grill, or
Cinderella's Royal Table. We dined at Cinderella's Royal Table last Christmas day for dinner and it was the perfect end to a long, but happy day in Magic Kingdom. Each time we dine at California Grill, we love the spectacular views and the service is equally as fabulous.
Of course, I would be remiss not to mention
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' at Disney Springs. The food is delicious, and we use our before dinner time to get some holiday shopping done. While there, be sure find the beautifully decorated Christmas trees at Disney Springs.
Kathleen, my most favorite activity during this time of year is to see the decorations at different resort hotels. We have always gone over to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to see the
life-sized gingerbread house. Keep your eyes open to catch the special holiday magic during your visit!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
