Woohoo! 1st Disney cruise next year on the Fantasy and it's a surprise to my hubby! He has no clue. New to cruising & had a question about the last day- How long does disembarking take? I ask bc of flights home. Can an afternoon flight (3:00pmish) work

    Hi Christine!

I'm so excited for you!  I wish I could be there to see your faces when you arrive on the magnificent Disney Fantasy!  You won't believe the majesty that will surround you.  It's just really unbelievable to me that the new ship could have turned out so incredibly magical!  Oh!  Get ready for the excellent service that DCL offers.  You'll be soooooo spoiled by the time you return.

Disembarking doesn't take very long at all.  You'll have breakfast in the dining room where you had dinner the evening before.  Typically it's either at 6:45 or 8:00am.  From there, you leave the ship, get your luggage, and go through US Customs.  Disney Cruise Line suggests that you not book a flight home until at least 12:30pm.  I agree with the suggestion.  It will just make the end of a beautiful trip very stressful if you run in to traffic getting back to the airport.  So yes, in a long answer, a 3:00pm flight will be perfect.

I hope you have an incredible time on your sailing.  Please let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel.  Bon voyage Christine!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
