Hi there, Vanessa! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!
I have great news for you. There is usually quite a bit of wiggle room on tickets to make changes and modify dates as we all know life can throw a pumpkin in your path unexpectedly. I have had to move and change some visits myself over the last few months! There are a few things to be aware of when making changes that I'm happy to walk you through:
1) Expiration Date: the first thing I would do is take a look at your ticket's expiration date just to make sure you aren't nearing the end of its validity.
Tickets purchased this year have an expiration of December 30, 2023 for one-day Tickets and January 12, 2024 for multi-day. You can find this by opening up the Disneyland Mobile App, clicking on the three-bar menu in the lower right-hand corner, and selecting "Tickets and Passes". Any valid tickets will show up here with the expiration date under the bar code. If for some reason your ticket expires before you can use it, do not worry! There is a little bit of magic in each one that never burns out and the value of an expired ticket can always be towards the purchase of a new ticket.
2)
Theme Park Reservations: it sounds like you already have reservations for the original dates of your visit. Reservations can be canceled and rescheduled, but are subject to availability so I would take a peek at the
theme park reservation calendar to be sure that there is availability for your new dates. Note that you can toggle to see availability if you are holding a One Park Per Day Ticket or a Park Hopper Ticket. Each ticket type has its own pool of reservations.
To make a change to your reservations, you will actually need to go into your account on the app or website and cancel the original booking. To do this from the app, on the home page you should see "Upcoming Plans" with your first theme park reservation listed underneath. Click in here and it will bring you to a page that lists all of your current reservations. Select the date you would like to change and choose "cancel reservation". Once you have gone through the process, you will be taken back to the beginning to rebook a new date. If you aren't sure of your new date, I would recommend still making a new reservation which can always be canceled as they do pop in and out of availability. If for some reason, your new date does not have reservations available, continue to check back because Guests are always modifying their plans and reservations can pop up!
3)
Ticket Pricing Tiers: if you have a one-day park ticket, your purchase price was based on a tiered system that takes into account the day of the week and time of year. There are 6 tiers and certain tiers do have some blackout dates. If you are trying to make a reservation for a day that is in a higher tier than your original ticket, you may see an error message. The good news is that you can upgrade your ticket! This is usually done at the Main Entrance Gate Ticket Booth. One caveat is that your park reservation does not transfer to a new ticket, so I would make sure reservations are available if you are looking to upgrade same day.
