Hello, Sherri! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I just returned from a magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth and we were fortunate enough to experience the
Paint the Night Dining Package at Carthay Circle Restaurant. IT WAS FABULOUS! Your four-course meal starts with sauteed asparagus and blue crab with a lemon-tarragon gribiche (similar to a hollandaise sauce). Next is a Moroccan spiced tomato soup with coriander grilled chicken and a drizzle of minted yogurt on top. For the entree, you have the choice of the fish of the day with sangria braised cabbage or a prime New York steak with a green garbanzo bean and tomatilla salsa. Finally, your meal concludes with a dark chocolate mousse with hazelnut creme anglaise.
There is also a separate kids menu that my preschooler absolutely adored. She gobbled up her chopped salad with ranch, a cute little cup of creamy tomato soup, a small filet of beef with green beans and the best mashed potatoes ever, and a painter's palette for dessert. For the entree, kids can also choose pasta with tomato sauce, salmon with potatoes and green beans, or mini crispy chicken tacos.
Keep in mind that substitutions are not allowed, but you can order additional items from the regular menu if you wish. If you have any food allergies or restrictions, you will most certainly be accommodated, of course. Our meal took about two hours and at the end, you will be given vouchers for the phenomenal reserved seating section for the parade. There are two rows of directors chairs (the second row has taller chairs) set up beside the restaurant and if you want the first row, show up a little earlier than the voucher lists.
I hope you get to experience this amazing meal during your next visit!
