Hi Leah,
My family and I are members of Disney Vacation Club, and we love the flexibility that it affords us. I think that each family needs to decide on an individual basis if Disney Vacation Club is right for your family. Let me offer you some thoughts to get started making this decision.
You mention that you are interested in staying at Walt Disney World, experiencing Disney Cruise Line, and taking some Adventures by Disney. These are all amazing vacation options! As a Disney Vacation Club member, you can use your vacation points at the Disney Vacation Club resorts at Walt Disney World. You can also use the Disney Collection to use reservation points for other resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as to experience Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney.
You will need to consider if using your vacation points to book through the Disney Collection for Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney is the best plan for you. When my family heads on a Disney Cruise, we tend to pay with a traditional payment method such as a credit card and save our vacation points for going to Walt Disney World. Using the banking and borrowing system, you can bank vacation points from one Use Year into the next, and borrow vacation points from the next Use Year into the current one, which offers flexibility.
I suggest that you visit the
Disney Vacation Club webpage about membership. This page has great information and videos. Next, I suggest that you
schedule an Open House tour, on which you be able to ask a Vacation Guide individual questions about your vacation needs. You can schedule the tour by calling 877-616-8687.
If you do decide to join Disney Vacation Club, Leah, it will be truly magical the first time you hear those words, "Welcome Home!"
