I was wondering why some of the tours have an age requirement of 16 years or older. We are going to be visiting in a couple of weeks and I have a 13 year old grandson that I would like to take on the Disneyworld behind the scenes one.

    Hi Lois,

I'm a huge fan of the tours that are offered at Walt Disney World. I've been fortunate enough to experience many of them, so I can say that they're a must-do for any Disney fans.

Great question about the age requirements! I don't recall seeing any official statement as to why an age requirement has been placed on some of the tours, but I can venture some guesses.

One reason is that some of them are lengthy, and may be tough for youngsters to stay engaged throughout the entire tour. Also, some of the tours offer insights into how the "magic" is created, so those are more appropriate for an older age group for obvious reasons.

If you have questions about specific tours, please feel free to write back and I'll be more than happy to give you the scoop.

    Talk to you soon!

    Best regards,
    Derek
