Hi, Jeremy!
The list of restaurants that accept the
Disney Dining Plan is always growing. And, of course, that growth can lead to policy updates, different specifications, and so on.
Restaurants that choose to "opt out" of the Deluxe Dining Plan, but accept the regular, And as you rightly point out, the major difference between the Regular and Deluxe Dining Plan is that adults
receive an appetizer at lunch and dinner on the Deluxe Dining Plan, but
not on the Regular Dining Plan.
As it was explained to me, a restaurant does not receive a one-to-one reimbursement for the cost of a meal, but participates in a negotiated per-person price. This doesn't affect the restaurants owned by Disney, but some of the restaurants on Walt Disney World property are actually owned and operated by third parties. Examples include Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex, Teppan Edo, and Yak & Yeti..Each restaurant can choose its own course of action regarding participation in the Dining Plan.
On the "regular" Dining Plan, a table service meal includes one entrée and one non-alcoholic beverage, or one full buffet (including non-alcoholic beverages).
The regular table service lunch and dinner includes one entrée, one dessert, and one non-alcoholic beverage, or one full buffet (including non-alcoholic beverages)..
On the Deluxe Dining Plan, table service breakfast includes one entrée and one non-alcoholic beverage or one full buffet (including non-alcoholic beverages).
Each deluxe table service lunch and dinner includes one appetizer, one entrée, one dessert, and one non-alcoholic beverage or one full buffet (including non-alcoholic beverages).
Have a delicious trip!
