Thank you for returning to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jodi! I had this same scenario hit My Disney Experience last fall and it took me a minute to figure out what was going on!
The annual fall bash,
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party starts in August this year, and since you are looking for a dining reservation during one of these party nights, it may be your problem. Magic Kingdom closes at 6pm as the party starts just after that, leaving the few restaurants taking dinner reservations with their last seating at or before 6pm. Last year, in 2017, only a few eateries were taking dinner reservations on party nights at all, so this may add to your challenge of finding a sit-down Magic Kingdom dinner. If you don’t have Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets (those are now on sale, and you can purchase them by calling (407) 939-1872) you’ll have to depart Magic Kingdom at 6pm. Perhaps you can make a reservation at a Walt Disney World Resort on the monorail line, like Ohana, Kona Cafe or
1900 Park Fare. It would be an easy and fun ride to the restaurant destination! You also have the option to remain in the park until closing and grab an early dinner at a quick service restaurant, like my favorite Casey’s Corner or the flavorful Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn. The nachos and tex-mex fare are super tasty!
If I can help you schedule some magical nights during your vacation, please let me know. It’s sure to be a frightfully good time at the Halloween Party! ~ Lindsey P.
