Hi! Just wondering what visiting other resorts looks like right now! I've heard you need a dining reservation to pop by other resorts, but I have a 1st Timer coming & would love to show them a resort or 2! Is this possible w/o a dining reservation?

Hiya, Lauren! Welcome back to planDisney!

Oh my Mickey waffles, your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is starting this week! How excited are you right now? Pull up a comfy chair and let's chat about Disney Resort hotels!

One of my very favorite things to do is to hop aboard the monorail from the Magic Kingdom Park and explore the exquisite Resort hotels along the line. I look forward to the day that we can enjoy this fun, free activity again, but for now, Disney's official policy is to limit the number of Guests visiting the Resort hotels to those who are staying there or have dining reservations. Now, having a fabulous meal at one of the magical Resorts is a practically perfect way to enjoy them, so I highly recommend making a dining reservation if you can.

You can always double-check with Cast Members at your own Resort hotel or on the buses or monorail stations to make sure the policy is still in place. After all, it never hurts to ask!

Lauren, I bet your 1st Timer will love a visit to Disney Springs! I can spend an entire day there wandering the shops and sampling the wares. My go-to at Disney Springs is ordering a Frose' from The Basket at Wine Bar George and grabbing a decadent delight from The Ganachery, then finding a spot on the water to chill with my treats. It's a little bit of heaven right in the middle of Walt Disney World!

And don't forget to pick up a "1st Time" button for your Disney rookie! It's a fun memento of their first trip, and you never know when your pal might get a little extra pixie dust to make their vacation even more special!

I hope this helps you have a magical time at the Walt Disney World Resort, Lauren. Please come see us again if you have any more questions!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
