Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Birdie. I'm so glad you stopped by! It sounds like you're planning a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. It's the very best kind, if you ask me!
As a teacher and a mom of three school-aged kids, my family always visits Walt Disney World in the summer months. Summertime visits mean lots of time spent in our Disney Resort hotel pool! Enjoying the immersive pools is an absolute must-do for my kids. To answer your question, Disney Resort hotels use a combination of chlorine and chemicals to keep their pools clean and crystal-clear. This carefully balanced combination kills germs and other yucky bacteria in the water so Guests can swim safely under the Orlando sun. The Lifeguard Cast Members are very diligent about testing the water quality. I've seen them test the water several times in a single afternoon! That said, you may find that the combination of chemicals and chlorine is a bit stronger at your Disney Resort hotel than at a private pool you're used to at home, due to the number of Guests using the pool. It's not strong enough to aggravate my daughter's eczema, but my sons' eyes
do become irritated if they swim too long underwater without goggles on. If you'd like more information about the combination of chemicals and chlorine used at your Disney Resort hotel, don't hesitate to ask a Cast Member there! They'd be happy to chat with you.
Did you know complimentary towels are provided to Guests of the
Disney Resorts Collection? It's just one of the many
benefits of staying at a Disney Resort hotel!
I hope this was helpful, Birdie. Please let us know if you have any other questions about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. We'd love to help you plan a magical stay!
