Hi there! I was wondering if my upcoming cruise has both a pirate night and Star Wars day at sea, or just Star Wars? If there is a pirate night, which one is it?

Ahoy there, Heather, and welcome aboard planDisney! I'm sure glad you stopped by with your question!

Wow, when you say upcoming cruise, you really mean upcoming! You're just over a week away from everything that's included in a Disney Cruise Line vacation! I sure hope you've started packing! If not...let's just say, "I find your lack of planning disturbing..." Oh my, sorry about that, sometimes my jealousy gets the best of me when Guests like you are so close to embarking on an incredible week-long adventure on the Disney Fantasy. I'll try to keep further disturbances in the Force to a minimum!

On seven-night cruises with a Star Wars Day at Sea, you and your crew can usually count on the themed nights to resemble the following:

    • Your first night is usually cruise casual as you settle-in to your vacation, so get ready to kick back, relax and meet your incredible Main Dining Room crew members who will be with you throughout your entire Rotational Dining experience!
    • One Pirate Night
    • One Star Wars Day at Sea
    • Two additional cruise casual nights
    • One formal and one semi-formal night - each gives you the opportunity to dress-up if you so choose, and take advantage of the onboard photography services.

As far as which days will be which on your particular cruise, I'd be a womp rat if your Star Wars Day at Sea wasn't one of your days at sea! Pirate Night on the other hand, that's a different story altogether. In my experience, the Pirates love to make themselves at home on the night you call on Disney Castaway Cay - honestly, I think they're always looking for leftovers from Cookies BBQ...Now, that's not to say they won't change course and plot their takeover for a different night, so I suggest checking the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you're aboard to be sure!

If you've experienced Pirate Night before, you should know that as part of Disney Cruise Line's commitment to Health and Safety, the festivities may seem a bit different than you may be accustomed to. That said, there's still plenty to get excited about - including a delicious Pirate-themed menu takeover and fireworks at sea!

Well Heather, I hope that helps you set a course for an incredible time aboard the Disney Fantasy! Oh, and one more thing: In addition to keeping a lookout for pirates, be sure to keep an eye out for those pesky porgs on your Star Wars Day at Sea...they're always getting into places they shouldn't be...

Thanks again for sailing my way with your question, Heather! If you come up with any more before you embark next week, please drop me a line!

    Fair winds and following seas,

    Andrew
