Hi there, Chris!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney. It looks like you are planning a holiday voyage. How fun! An escape from the cold weather sounds like the ideal plan to me. My family tries to plan a winter vacation when we need a break from the snow each year.
Disney Cruise Line does have
ground transportation available for most cruises. A motor coach is often used for Guests who book a pre-cruise stay at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel at Walt Disney World Resort in my experience. However, it could also be a van, mini-bus, or private vehicle, especially if staying at one of the hotel options not located at Walt Disney World Resort such as
Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport or Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront. To book ground transfers, make sure to
call Disney Cruise Line to reserve your hotel room and transportation. Keep in mind that ground transfers are typically only available for Guests who book their hotel through Disney Cruise Line (or those wanting transportation to/from the airport).
Have you booked your
Port Adventures or
Onboard Activities yet? These experiences can be reserved during your
booking window. First-time Guests can usually book these experiences 75 days before their sailing date. My family enjoys Port Adventures that take place in the morning so we can head back to the ship and play in the pool before dinner. We also don't book Port Adventures in
Disney Castaway Cay (or
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point when we go there) because there are plenty of fun activities to enjoy!
Chris, have a magical cruise! Do not hesitate to reach out to planDisney again if you have additional questions.
Happy sailing!
Jen
