Well hi there Gary, I'd like to wish you a warm Canadian welcome back to planDisney!
I always love being able to help fellow Canadians as they make the daring escape from the frosty chill of winter to venture southward for the warmer weather of Florida, and from your question it looks like you just might be a fan of adventures in a galaxy far, far away.
You'll be happy to hear that as of the current
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, toy lightsabers are not prohibited and I often see them across all of the Theme Parks being carried with care by both young Padawan learners and full-fledged masters alike. Be aware that policies are subject to change without prior notice but right now they are perfectly acceptable just as long as guests aren't behaving in an unsafe way as they wield what Obi-Wan Kenobi refers to as "an elegant weapon for a more civilized age."
In fact, there are a few locations at Walt Disney World Resort where you can even purchase or customize a new lightsaber during your visit, such as the
Star Wars™ Galactic Outpost in Disney Springs or even
Tatooine Traders just outside the entrance to
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disney's Hollywood Studios. While you're visiting the planet Batuu, don't forget to keep an eye out for
Savi's Workshop where the secretive Gatherers guide a fortunate few (with a valid reservation) through the process of crafting a handbuilt lightsaber of their own. I find there are definitely busier times when it's more challenging to snag a spot, but have also experienced better chances at booking in January around your upcoming stay.
I hope this helps, Gary - there's also currently
special offer aimed at Canadian Residents that begins on January 11, 2024 so if you have some wiggle room in your dates it could be worth the potential savings on theme park tickets! In the meantime, you're always welcome back for
more information and advice here at planDisney ahead of your next intergalactic adventure.
May the Force be with you always,
Prince
