I am wondering what time can I start making dinner reservations, for our trip, once my "window" opens up?

Oh, happy day, Michelle! When you can start making reservations for dining at Walt Disney World, it means your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is just around the riverbend. It is so exciting! And I'm thrilled you are here with a question about one of my favorite topics: dining!

You can start booking dining 60 days before your arrival date at 6:00 a.m. Eastern. It looks like you will be waving "Hello" to Mickey and Minnie on September 28, so you can make reservations on July 30 at 6:00 a.m. If you are staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can select dining for your whole trip (up to a 10-night stay). If you are staying somewhere else, you can book 60 days in advance of your dining date.

Since you are asking about the time, I have a feeling you must have some popular restaurants in mind for your trip. Disney has recently made some magical enhancements to the dining reservation system. After entering the date, you will find a slide to indicate the time range you want, with all the flexibility to go wide or narrow in your search. You can also filter by location. You can choose any of the theme parks and/or the restaurants in the resorts near a specific theme park. Looking to dine in EPCOT or any of the Disney's BoardWalk locations, select "EPCOT" and "Nearby Resorts," and the system will limit the options to this area.

You can also select multiple days, which is especially helpful if you are staying on property and can book several days at the 60-day mark. If you want 'Ohana Best Friends Breakfast or Cinderella's Royal Table and can't find a reservation on a particular day, you can ask the system to search a range of dates (still within your booking window). It makes it so much easier to find all of the options. I was thrilled when I saw these new features! I hope they are helpful to you, too.

Michelle, I hope you get all the dining of your dreams. Selecting restaurants is very serious business with my family. We have so many favorite "must-dos" and a list of new places to try. There are so many tempting options. As Ursula says, "Life's full of tough choices, isn't it?"

If you have any other questions as your countdown turns from months... to weeks... to days, please come back to planDisney. We're happy to talk about dining and all the other magic awaiting you!

    See 'Ya Real Soon!
