Welcome back to planDisney, Emma. We love repeat customers!
Like a grand and miraculous spaceship, our planet has sailed through the universe of time...Oops! I got a little distracted while thinking of
Spaceship Earth. But
EPCOT has gone through a grand and miraculous transformation over the past few years. With new additions like
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, a brand-new fireworks show, and a rethemed and beautiful center of the park, it is shining, shimmering, and splendid! And the light shows on Spaceship Earth have been nothing short of mesmerizing.
Times aren't typically published for the light shows on Spaceship Earth, but they generally happen periodically from dusk until the start of the
nighttime spectacular. While you can see the ball glowing and sparkling from many different viewpoints in the park, you'll get the best vantage point the closer you get to the entrance to the park. Plus, all the music and lights from the area around it really enhance the experience.
When visiting EPCOT at night, you might find yourself wanting to just find a seat in the
World Celebration Gardens section of the park. This area near
Dreamers Point is beautifully illuminated, and the score played throughout this area is very moving to me. And you'll even hear hints of the score from
Luminous The Symphony of Us, which is the nighttime spectacular at this park. And don't sleep on
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana at night. It truly shines after dusk, and at certain viewpoints, the illuminated Spaceship Earth acts as an exceptionally beautiful backdrop.
Emma, best wishes for planning your EPCOT evening. Nighttime is my favorite time to visit the theme parks, and EPCOT is no exception. If you have any other questions,
send them my way, and I'll get you those answers!
Here’s to the next 30,000 years on Spaceship Earth,
Matt
